To say this little one of mine has been brave would be a serious injustice. She has been brave, strong, had faith when mine wavered, and happy. Above everything else she has been happy. Sometimes to her own detriment (try telling a Dr. that there is something wrong with the baby who is waving and smiling at him), but always happy. I have said it before, but I am in awe of her. Today we celebrated the first whole day she's been free of cords and feeding tubes in weeks. She's nursing again like a champ after a week of being fed strictly by a tube. And most of all she is still happy.
Today is the one week mark since my sweet little Magnolia underwent her first surgery. We still have a lot of questions left unanswered, but tonight as I sit here in her hospital room, rocking her to sleep and staring at her little hand, covered in tape and an IV, I can't help but be in awe of how strong she is.
Day 6, almost 1 week of living in our little room at Primary Children's Hospital. This little one has been through so much and still has a ways to go, but today they say she may be able to come home with us, drains and all, until the rest of her treatment can be completed. Magnolia has smiled at every single person that has walked into her room (until they try to touch her). She has been such a source of strength to me through her own trial. This baby girl of mine is full of love, happiness and power. She will change the world.
